VCE Study Centre Grand Opening by Tanya Shaltiel – Yavneh Foundation Executive Director

We were delighted to officially open the VCE Study Centre.

This centre has been generously donated by Avi Gilboa and dedicated in memory of Avi’s grandmother, Mrs Marie Gross z”l. Avi’s ongoing commitment to Jewish education will forever leave an indelible mark on Yavneh and the lives of our students.  His belief in our mission and investment in their future will continue to inspire generations to come.

Our Year 11 and 12 students are the lucky beneficiaries and are the reason for this incredible gift.  As our College Captains said, “Having a designated place to learn and study has revolutionized the way we approach our academic pursuits. The VCE Study Centre provides an environment of focus, inspiration, and collaboration. Here, we find the perfect balance between silence and intellectual stimulation, enabling us to delve into our studies with renewed vision and enthusiasm. On behalf of all the students, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Avi, our matchers, Rosanna and Mark Leibler, Marlene and Abe Zelwer and Natacha and Paul Zuckerman, and all the contributors who have made this Study Centre possible. Your belief in our potential and dedication to our success is an inspiration to us all. We promise to honour your support by making the most of this exceptional learning environment and striving for excellence in all that we do.

One of the most significant benefits of having this Study Centre is the sense of belonging it instils within us. As students, we thrive when we are surrounded by like-minded individuals who share our passion for learning. This space fosters a strong sense of camaraderie, as we engage in discussions, exchange ideas, and support each other through the challenges we face in our final years of school.”

We are truly appreciative of all our generous donors for their contributions because through their unwavering support,  they have helped us create an environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth, and the pursuit of knowledge.

10 beautiful Mezuzot were affixed in memory of Shimon Allen z’l who was a very special friend of the College.  Each Mezuzah the Allen family have generously provided will serve as a constant reminder of their kindness. May all the schools Mezuzot watch over, protect, and inspire generations of our students, just as Shimon did during his lifetime.
