Scholarships for talented young minds

We offer a range of scholarships to support families seeking a first-class Jewish education for their children. Scholarships are an important part of our mission to make a Leibler Yavneh College education as accessible as possible.

Academic Scholarships 2025 (CLOSED)

We offer a limited number of academic scholarships for students entering Years 7, 9 & 11 in 2025.

These scholarships are designed to assist families seeking a first-class Jewish education. They are awarded for academic and general excellence (not as a bursary). We have scholarship options for both existing and new students.

Our two academic scholarships are the Nicholas Slezak Scholarship and the Leibler Yavneh College Academic Scholarship.

Nicholas Slezak Scholarship

Leibler Yavneh College is proud to offer three Nicholas Slezak Memorial Scholarships to existing Yavneh students, one each for students entering Years 7, 9 and 11 in 2025.

What you need to know about this scholarship:

  • It covers 25% of the tuition for two years
  • You must apply by Monday 19 February, 2024
  • Your child must complete an exam on Sunday 25th February 2024 to be eligible

Leibler Yavneh College Academic Scholarship

These scholarships are for EXTERNAL students entering Years 7, 9 and 11 in 2025.

What you need to know about this scholarship:

  • It covers 50% of the tuition for two years
  • You must apply by Monday, 19 February 2024
  • Your child must complete an exam on Sunday 25 February 2024 to be eligible

Needs based Scholarship

Yavneh’s Needs Based Scholarships are designed to assist families who would otherwise not be able to afford a Jewish education. Applications are assessed on a range of non-academic criteria.

Don and Sonia Marejn Scholarship

The Don and Sonia Marejn Scholarship is available for students from Prep to Year 12 – and we offer five per year.

Applicants must be:

  • Currently enrolled in a government school OR a UJEB program
  • Of good character
  • Halachically Jewish

Ruben Fried Scholarship, Year 7 Entry 2025

The Ruben Fried Scholarship Applications for 2025 are now open. and close on Monday 27 May, 2024.

The Scholarship is available for one student, entering Year 7 in 2025.

The key criteria on which this bursary scholarship is awarded are outlined below;

  • to a Jewish student, not currently enrolled in Jewish School
  • to a student who is Halachically Jewish
  • awarded based on means based testing

Successful applicants are expected to participate fully in College life.

Academic & Jewish Commitment Scholarship (CLOSED)

Prospective students who will be entering Year 6 in 2024 are encouraged to apply for our new Yavneh Academic & Leadership Scholarships. Applications for 2024 are now CLOSED. 

These scholarships are designed to recognise outstanding achievements of prospective students who must be able to demonstrate strong academic performance and evidence of community service, as well as a commitment to the Yavneh values to be competitive.

Academic & Jewish Commitment Scholarships (Year 6, 2024)

These scholarships are for EXTERNAL students entering Year 6, 2024.

There are a number of scholarships available and each will cover up to 50% of tuition fees.

To apply, students must complete the online application form and provide:

  • Copies of their two most recent school reports
  • A written statement (200-500 words) outlining why they have applied for the scholarship and their aspirations for high school
  • Letter of reference from Shule Rabbi or Jewish Youth Movement leader

All students who apply for a scholarship will then attend an interview with the Principal, Mrs Shula Lazar. Candidates will be advised of the outcome of their application in Term 4, 2023.
