Mikolot Public Speaking Competition

Mikolot Public Speaking Competition

On Monday night, Oren, Nadav and Orly participated in the Mikolot Semifinals.

Mikolot is a Public Speaking Competition that runs nationally, covering relevant Jewish and Zionist topics, and aiming to build the next generation of strong Zionist leaders.

This year, three of our students were selected after an internal round to represent Yavneh at the semifinals along with students from Mount Scopus and Bialik. The topic for the speech was – What story in the Tanach speaks to you and why? Our students spoke with courage and conviction, presenting a high level of Torah knowledge and interesting sources.

The impromptu round was a highlight, with students speaking about figures in Jewish history who they would choose to meet. Oren, Nadav and Orly displayed confidence in their knowledge of Jewish history and values, speaking about topics from Yosef’s courage and humility, to Iyov and human suffering and even Menachem Begin.

While two students from other schools were chosen to represent Victoria in the finals, we are very proud of the high level of Torah knowledge and confidence displayed by our Yavneh Mikolot team. Wishing Oren D, Orly M and Nadav L Kol Hakavod for your achievements.
