About Leibler Yavneh College

Leibler Yavneh College is one of Australia’s leading and most respected co-educational independent schools.  With an enrolment of 750 students from ELC to Year 12, it comprises two metropolitan campuses in Melbourne.

Applications are invited from innovative and engaging Primary teachers for a full-time (1.0 FTE) (part time would be considered). This position is based at our Elsternwick Campus.

We welcome applications from individuals who are creative, inquiring and enthusiastic, and have a genuine commitment to the education of young people. Experience teaching years 4- 6 is preferable, and the successful candidate will value a strong approach to student well-being. PYP experience is highly regarded.

About you: 

  • Hold current VIT registration and appropriate teaching and tertiary qualifications (secondary trained)
  • Bring passion, expertise, and a proven track record of achieving excellence in student learning.
  • Possess strong content knowledge and teaching practice in either English literacy or lower secondary maths (highly desirable)
  • Are a dynamic and engaging classroom practitioner with experience in leading others in the development and implementation of rigorous and innovative learning and teaching programs
  • Leverage technologies to enhance the learning and teaching
  • Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a committed and enthusiastic teaching team.

The Head of Education Support plays a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive learning environment at Yavneh. Leading our approach to learning diversity, this position ensures students in Years 7–12 receive tailored support, enrichment opportunities, and English language development to reach their full potential. The role oversees compliance processes such as the NCCD, special exam arrangements, and personalised learning plans, while driving strategic initiatives and evidence-based interventions. Working collaboratively with teachers, department heads, and wellbeing teams, the Head of Education Support empowers every student to succeed while feeling a strong sense of belonging within our community.

About you: 

You are a dynamic and empathetic educational leader with current teaching qualifications and VIT registration. With proven experience in leading student support teams, you bring expertise in learning diversity, differentiation, compliance, and evidence-based intervention -along with the capacity to mentor and uplift staff.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Educational leadership and team management experience in inclusive or learning support education
  • Expertise in inclusive education, differentiation, Universal Design for Learning, and high-impact teaching strategies
  • Knowledge of special needs, gifted education, and EAL approaches
  • Strong communication, collaboration, relationship-building, and advocacy skills
  • Organisational and compliance capability (NCCD, exam adjustments, ILPs)
  • Effective classroom practice that models excellence and supports diverse learners
  • Experience developing, implementing, and reviewing ILPs and personalised pathways
  • Ability to work meaningfully with families, community supports, and external professionals
  • Commitment to the values and ethos of a modern Orthodox Jewish Zionist school
