Grade 6 Graduates

Grade 6 Graduates

On Thursday night, we gathered to celebrate a truly special milestone—Year 6 graduation. It was a night filled with mixed emotions. On one hand, we are thrilled to be moving on to the next exciting phase of their lives. On the other, we’re saying goodbye to the familiar faces and places that have shaped our world for the past seven years.

Graduation is a time for us to reflect and appreciate how much we’ve grown. Not just in height, but in wisdom, maturity, and character. We’ve learned so much, both inside and outside the classroom. We’ve tackled challenges big and small with grit and determination.

At Thursday’s graduation we celebrated all that we’ve accomplished and all that we have yet to achieve. Here’s to the next chapter, and to the bright futures that await us all.

Here are some of our reflections on our Primary Years.

“I have always cherished the Jewish studies lessons I had in Primary School. The various engaging activities led by excellent teachers left a lasting impression on me. One of my favourite parts was learning about my diverse Jewish heritage and ancestry, which deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by my grandparents and others. Hebrew further deepened my understanding of our culture.”

“I can’t help but reflect on the unforgettable experiences we shared during Year 5 and 6 camp. Those days were filled with laughter, adventure, and friendship. Even though there were some challenging moments that involved bravery like having the courage to go on the giant swing or doing an obstacle course 30 metres in the air. Each experience, has created a memory and shaped who we are today.”

“Learning about the power of electricity was exhilarating, We explored how the MCG crowd’s roar could heat up a cup of coffee in seconds, or even how you could make energy out of water! Now I’m no scientist, but I can tell that Year 6 is the best and craziest year. I can’t count how many things I have learnt this year but I’m 101% sure it’s more than other years.”

“Over the years, in Hebrew, we have learnt very important skills. Learning a new language helps us to strengthen our memory and improve our communication skills. Hebrew is a very important ability to have as Jewish children. It helps us to create connections with our brothers and sisters all over the world.”

“Over time we have flourished and increased our knowledge and people skills. This year, Year 6 students have participated in leadership groups which has taught us to how to lead while being our own person. We have been a role model for our buddies, which made us realise we need to think of others. Leadership has given us many useful tools to enable us to improve our communication, decision-making, negotiation, as well as building relationships. We are excited to use these in our Secondary journey.”
