Extra-curricular Programs at Yavneh

Through programming and activities, students are immersed in opportunities for learning well beyond a traditional classroom education.

The Yavneh experience is truly multi-faceted. Many exciting and educationally enriching aspects of the school experience take place outside of the classroom and after regular school hours. Through programming and activities, students are immersed in opportunities for learning well beyond a traditional classroom education. All students are encouraged to explore and cultivate their unique talents, develop their skills and make new friends.

Extra-curricular Programs in Primary

Primary School students have access to a range of clubs that run after school and during lunch breaks, including dancing, J-Lego, woodworking, Omanut, Parsha Plays, and more! These activities vary each term and are held on different days during the week. Whether they’re looking for a new mental challenge or some fun physical activity, students are encouraged to participate and explore new activities.

Extra-curricular Programs in Secondary

In the Secondary School the range of activities continues and includes Literature Club, Chalutzim & Chamutzim, Shiurim in the Beit Midrash, and STEAM.

Students also have opportunities to participate in creative writing competitions, art and craft exhibitions, interschool quizzes, science and mathematics competitions, debating, and the annual College musical.

A unique addition to our list of afterschool clubs is the Homework Club where students can go for assistance with Mathematics, Jewish Studies, English, HASS and Science two evenings a week.

Outdoor Education & Camps at Yavneh

Sporting activities are a feature of the curriculum from Kindergarten through to Year 12. Inter-house swimming and athletics carnivals are held in both Primary and Secondary, and Secondary students can also participate in inter-school sport.

The Outdoor Education/Camps are also a special feature of Yavneh. Camps are held for students in Years 4 to 12 and allow students to engage in challenging outdoor activities as well as problem-solving and team-building activities.

Shabbatonim also help students develop relationships both with their peers and faculty in the beautiful setting that Shabbat creates. The special environment impacts students in significant ways and the learning and growth which occurs on these weekends provides some of the most memorable and meaningful moments of our students’ educational experience.
